"Journey"
MBIF, CH Tova's Don't Stop Believin' of Aurai CGC
11 July 2010 - 31 August 2022

Journey was my best friend for over half my life, from middle school all the way to my first job after college. We shared many adventures together through 4H, camping trips, and exploring new cities, as well as many lazy days at home. I will always cherish the memories of her favorite tricks (jumpy spins always!), laughing together at (failed) agility competitions, and cuddling under a blanket on the couch. I owe a large part of my passion for windsprites and veterinary medicine to Journey and I am so grateful I had the chance to grow up with her. I miss this goofy, stubborn, smartass, sweet dog immensely. There will never be another quite like her.
Love you, sweet girl.

"Milo"
GCH Stone House Milagro AJ, AS, CGC
17 October 2010 - 7 May 2024

Milo was personality plus - fun loving, affectionate, athletic, enthusiastic, and he had a great smile. He was my Peter Pan dog... The puppy who never grew up. Goofy, silly, happy-go-lucky, he never met a person he didn't immediately love, and he was never shy about showing it.
Miss you so much, Milo-Man. You will always have a huge place in my heart.

IWC CH BISS BIF C-ATCH Wylde Windswept Island Girl SRX, AS3, AG3, ROA, CA, CGC, TKN, THDN
17 July 2009 - 25 August 2023

Cleo was our beloved, beautiful Windsprite for 14 years. She was born on Joy Jaskula’s couch, and she passed on our couch. In between, however, she was no couch potato. She loved to run – on the Nantucket beach, on the straight racing track, on the lure course, on the agility course, in our backyard with her housemates and her puppies. To balance this drive was her soft cuddly side. Norm’s lap was the favorite spot, followed by soft beds to curl up in, especially if they were in a chair or on the couch. It’s fitting that she took her last breath on the fluffy bed on the couch being cuddled by Norm, petted by me, and watched over by her doggie family.
Thank you, Joy, for our precious gift.

"Gambler"
Tova's Gamblin' Man of Ardmoor Farm
January 2008 - December 2017

Gambler was well known for being a gentle guy. He loved everyone - human and animal alike. He won the hearts of those originally afraid of him, as well as the trust of many a reactive dog. He was born old and wise, and maintained his dignity his entire life. He was sweet and outgoing, and loved to do whatever with me, always. He was a happy worker, a sensitive, certified pet therapist, and a strong competitor in agility and nosework. As someone said "He just had a good soul. Goodbye for now, Bubba. You will always be my "Gamblin' Man".

"Penny"
Claybrook Penybryn
19 October 1998 - 12 August 2015
My lovely Penny joined her best friend Shawnee at the Rainbow Bridge. Opinionated and demanding (she never failed to let me know - loudly - if I was late with mealtime!), but also wise & gentle. A few weeks shy of 17 years old, but still not long enough.
Farewell sweet Penny.

"Shawnee"
CH Claybrook Shawnee
12 April 1999 - 28 July 2015
Sweet Shawnee has joined my pack of angels. She was a homebody, didn't really like traveling, and was generally shy around strangers. She came to me when she was about 8 years old, but we bonded instantly, totally, and forever... soulmates. She was truly beautiful and perfect, inside and out.
Fly high my sweet girl.

"Vega"
CH Claybrook Vega
20 October 2003 - 14 June 2015

She was a beautiful little girl and a pleasure to be around. A lovely and loving girl - an embodiment of the longhaired whippet personality. We treasure the years we had with her and will never forget the little girl in the hot pink raincoat. We miss her terribly but know she is with Hamish and the many other of our clan that preceded her across the rainbow bridge. Rest in peace, my little Vega B!

22 February 2002 - 21 May 2014

So go and run free with the angels
Dance around the golden clouds
For the lord has chosen you to be with him
And we should feel nothing but proud
Although he has taken you from us
And our pain a lifetime will last
Your memory will never escape us
But make us glad for the time we did have
Your face will always be hidden
Deep inside our hearts
Each precious moment you gave us
Shall never, ever depart
So go and run free with the angels
As they sing so tenderly,
And please be sure to tell them
To take good care of you for me

"Lightning"
CH Tova's Speed of Light
April 29, 1997 - July 4, 2012
Lightning was one very special dog. He had a regal presence about him. We often referred to him as "Your Highness". But he had a wonderful playfulness about him too, always bringing squeaky toys to trade for pieces of turkey or whatever might be for supper. He was a great leader of our pack, the others always following him. He had a magnificent coat and a beautiful personality. And what a great hunter, bringing me mice, moles, squirrels and chipmunks! He had a long and colorful life and we will miss him terribly. Godspeed dear Lightning. We love you deeply and our hearts go with you.

"Ashley"
Tova's Ashley
May 30, 2002 - October 11, 2012
Ashley was the perfect dog, perfect in every way, and she went everywhere with us. We have a home in upstate NY on 14 acres with a beautiful waterfalls and stream on property, which she greatly enjoyed. We go south for the winters and have a home on North Padre Island in Texas, where Ashley and I would walk a few miles each morning on the beach along the ocean. She traveled with us in our RV while doing our bird of prey shows, and absolutely loved traveling. I thought she was the healthiest whippet in the world until she suddenly became ill the first week in October. She died a week later, after multiple vet visits and hospitalizations, of liver cancer. She had a great life and was smothered with lots of love. She really enjoyed all the things we did, traveled extensively, met thousands and thousands of people, enjoyed all our family activities, and basically blended in to whatever we were doing. She really went with the flow! She was confident, very affectionate, and always tried to please. Everyone admired her & I was very proud of her. I would say that her strongest quality was her obedience & I rarely used a leash, she stayed by my side. If it was time to run, she would wait for the okay, when all was clear, then run like the wind! Ashley's mom was Jean's' KD'.

"Jubilee"
Claybrook Jubilee
February 27, 2002 - March 2, 2011
I said yes I would foster a whippet until a home could be found, but that dog was Jubilee. From the moment we met, we bonded. She was the sweetest little girl. We tried agility but she wanted to be more of a cheerleader instead. Didn't matter as long we were together and she was happy. She was always ready to go wherever we were going. She loved everybody and especially Mate's puppies. As they got older, she took care of them and they all snuggled together. How could you not love her. So I flunked fostering, but OH what a terrific reward I got in this wonderful dog. Missing you so little Jubee.

"Whisper"
Claybrook Whispering Wind
March 26, 1998 - May 6, 2011
Whisper, lovingly known as Woodle, was the sweetest thing ever. She was beautiful, smart, sensitive and funny and gave all around her many years of happiness. Whisper and her daughter Secret, both being appropriately named, were equally noisy and great conversationalists with no shortage of ideas and opinions greeting everyone with heart-felt roo roo rooooos.
Whisper was the first Longhaired Whippet to immigrate to Canada and was a proud and loving mother. As a result of loving Whisper many cherished and loving friendships were forged.
"Gabriel"
AKC CH Amperand's Don't Cry For Me
August 29, 1998 - March 10, 2011
Gabriel was the sweetest and gentlest of all my Whippet boys and we will all miss him very much. He was bred by the late Mona Maytag and combined the AKC Whippet lines of Whippletree, Bohem and Bitterblue. He sired the AKC Whippet Lightfall's Tova Rising New Moon aka Riser and is thus behind Joyce Jaskula's first Windswept litter and the Conklin's first litter out of their Cricket. We are very proud of his descendents and very proud of his contribution to the LHW's.

"Teddy" & "Chip"
Delight's One for Winston
Hildidan's Chip Off The Old Block
6 June 1996 - 30 July 2010
February 1996 - 11 March 2011
They were best buds from 12 weeks - crated and kenneled together their whole lives (even when intact) when not hanging out in the house. Chip would open the back gate to the lower field, many times letting himself and Ted out for a run and a visit when folks were down there. Nancy always said she could picture the 2 of them, all their goods packed in bandanas on sticks, heading off for a walkabout. Ted was brilliant once I learned to use shaping skills! One time as I sat in the living room, he jumped on the kitchen counter, rummaged around, jumped off, came over, and dropped a clicker in my lap! Chip loved everyone and every animal, even bringing toys to new pups & letting them climb all over him and play tug. I always called them my 'best boys'.
Teddy is the father of REO, Lexi, CJ, Blip, and others, and is behind many of our LHW's. And Chip is behind Tony, Pip, Twink, Molly, Misty, and other Percentage LHW's.

"Gayle"
CH Claybrook Judson
February 27, 2002 - September 25, 2010
I had the privlege of knowing Gayle for nearly a year. He was bright, sweet, and gentle. He loved to give kisses, and he loved his squeaky toys! We found out he was ill when his babies were 8 weeks old and leaving for their new hows, and he succumbed to lymphona just six weeks post diagnosis. He felt well until the day he passed, which was a gift to him and to me.
He fathered a litter of ten beautiful puppies born this June, and my favorite memory of Gayle is that he stole all his kid's toys and I had to buy new ones so they would have something to play with.

"Smokey"
CH Claybrook Mist of Tova
March 1998 - Feb. 2010
Smokey was the "perfect dog" in every way. He was full of love, devotion and kindness. Everyone who knew him loved him. And he never met a dog he didn't like. He left us suddenly and took a piece of our hearts with him. We feel honored and privileged to have known him and felt his great love. We will love him forever.
Gloria & Charlie Newton
"Zippy"
With Zippy, one phrase comes to mind…a boy and his dog. Zippy was devoted to his boy and his boy was devoted to him. He truly was a beautiful dog, inside and out . . . gorgeous, gentle, happy and devoted, and always ready for a game (especially if it involved a squeaky toy!) Zippy has left us way too early and very suddenly. He leaves a huge void in our family and in our hearts. The house just isn’t the same without his presence, his love, and his sense of humor. We will forever miss him.

"Zoey"
U-CDX Windsprite Snowy Gold Filigree GCG
December 9,1991 - December 9, 2007
Zoey introduced me (and many others!) to this wonderful breed. She was described by a friend of mine as "scary smart" because we were so in tune with one another. She was the sweetest dog that I have ever owned, and literally would not have hurt a fly! She was a great Frisbee dog and most importantly an absolute wonderful friend.
Sharon Kroeger
"Tina"
CH Santana's Wildest Dreams MAD JM RM EAC EJC EGC
June 3, 1997 - April 16, 2004
She was one in a lifetime. She had it all - beauty, brains, talent, and a generous, loving spirit. And she did it all . . . with style, grace, and enthusiasm (and a sense a humor!) She was a friend, a soulmate, a teacher, an ambassador, an angel. Perfection every day of her life and beyond.

The Rainbow Bridge
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together.
